I’m Henry Neal. I live in Asheville, where I build software, play music and grow mushrooms.

I have loved building things ever since I can remember. From the time I was able to hold a hammer I was always helping my dad on jobsites where he would build houses. Today that same ambition and curiousity to do what hasn't been done lives and thrives in my passion for creating great software, playing music and exploring the world of mushrooms.

The only thing I loved more than building has been creating music. I've played in bands through out high school and college and am currently working on an album under Mother Effervescent with an eventual release scheduled for 2025.

I've spent the last 5 years becoming obsessed with everything fungi, growing culinary mushrooms and experimenting with training different varieties of mushrooms to remediate soil and break down specific substances that would otherwise be dumped in a landfill.

Today, I’m the founder of Golden Tear Origin, where we’re working on dynamic approaches to mycoremediation and how fungi can transform the world of psychology and psychiatry. (More on that to come)
